The owner of Boston BonBon, is a local baker who specializes in unique macaron flavors. The best part is, they ship nationwide! Q: How did you get started with your business?
A: Growing up, I have always loved food, I love making food and entertaining! A backpack trip to Paris many moons ago definitely planted a seed of starting this business. Macarons are colorful, fun and can take on many different flavor profiles!
I have a lot of fun creating them, but we didn't start the business until we started selling our macarons at a farmers market in Hingham in 2015. That gave us the confidence boost to build our first brick-and-mortar store in Arlington in 2016! It is definitely a big step up from using a shared commercial kitchen. Our store is now in the south shore, in Cohasset, but we ship anywhere in the USA.
Q: What is your favorite thing about running your own business and being your own boss?
A: My favorite thing about running my own business has to be the freedom! It allows me to craft my own schedule so I have more free time to travel.
Q: Where do you find inspiration for new, innovative ideas to bring to your business?
A: I love travelling and that definitely gives me inspiration for a lot of new flavors. A lot of our flavors are inspired from cuisines around the world like Vietnamese Iced Coffee, Mango Lassi, Lemoncello!
Q:) What is the hardest part about having your own business?
A: The hardest part of having my own business will have to be the unpredictability of revenue flow. It is so different from a 9 to 5 fixed income lifestyle!
Q: You do amazing Wedding Favors with your macarons, and you also cater! How can people contact you if they want some of your macarons at their event?

Q: Any message for people looking to get started with their own culinary business?
A: Culinary business is definitely one of the most demanding industries. So I will suggest that anybody that wants to start business in this field should really LOVE what they do! Because there will definitely be long hours, rejection and hard work along the way!
Q: Lastly, what's your favorite flavor of macaron?
A: My all time favorite has to be our Earl Grey flavor. It is our signature flavor! Our current favorite for the summer has to be Ginger Lime! Refreshing and gives you a little "zing"!
